I love to share all my online fabric hauls with you. I know how difficult it can be to choose the right fabric for a project especially when you can’t fondle the fabric before you buy.
Recently I’ve been filming my online fabric purchases to share them with you, so you can see my reactions. This was the first time I had bought fabric from all these online shops.
Believe me when I say, I don’t always get it right with these fabric hauls! Some fabric retailers need to write better descriptions of the fabrics they sell.
Other online retailers send lovely little packages of joy through the post! The whole online shopping experience is made better through their attention to detail.
I guess what I’m saying is: you get what you pay for!
Pound Fabrics
I had been half-heartedly scouting around for some bargain stretch denim for a while. The jeans I made last year no longer fit. I am ready to accept my current measurements will be staying for a while. So I need to make some new jeans. I plan to make the Meghan Nielson Ash Jeans and I’ve never used one of these patterns before. I definitely want to make a wearable toile to assess and tweak the fit before making in more expensive denim.
When Pound Fabrics showed denim at £4 per metre in their email newsletter, I immediately clicked through to their site and bought 3 metres of the 2 colours they had available. An indigo and a dark grey colour.

Pound a Metre
We were making the Tilly & the Buttons Billie in the February Sew Along in the Love & Stitches Club. The fabric I had spotted and loved was way over budget for a sew along project. I couldn’t find anything on all the usual sites I use. So I ended up just looking for cheap knit fabrics.
I eventually discovered some fabrics on Pound a Metre and purchased a Ponte de Roma along with a jersey bundle.

Bawn Textiles
Again I was looking for fabric for another Sew Along in the Love & Stitches Club. We were making the Paper Theory Olya Shirt. When I was looking for a good crisp white organic cotton poplin, I found it on Bawn Textiles. I was actually drooling over some of the beautiful ethically produced fabrics on their site. They are a relative newcomer and are due to open a bricks & mortar store in Glasgow in early May 2021.

Made my Wardrobe
I’ve been a Made my Wardrobe fan since I first discovered Lydia’s patterns. So of course when they started selling fabric on their website I was interested. I was wanted to add some jersey basics to my wardrobe in colours that suit my colour scheme.
This was the first of my filmed fabric hauls!
