Beginner’s Dressmaking – 5 week course
Beginners’ Dressmaking Course will take you from zero to finished garment in just five 2.5 hour sessions.
You will learn all the skills to make clothes, in exactly your style and your colours that fit you perfectly. Look good and feel good. Nothing beats the feeling of being complimented on something you’re wearing and being able to say “I made this!”

Beginner’s Dressmaking Part 2 – 5 week course
Following on from Beginner’s Dressmaking (part one), continue your journey into making fabulous wearable clothes that you’ll love! This course allows you to develop, practice and increase your confidence to make beautiful clothes that actually fit you in the fabrics you love. It is the perfect way to continue to indulge your dressmaking habit and develop it into an addiction.
Repeat this course as many times as you like, your skills will grow and you will become a more confident and skilled dressmaker.

Mastering Zips – 2.5 hour workshop
Never worry about inserting a zip again when you learn how to insert not one but two different types of zips in this short workshop with Alison. Remove your fear of sewing zips, learn tips & techniques to make inserting zips easy allowing you to choose that sewing pattern you love with a zip!

Sew Surgery – Dressmaking – 3 hour workshop
Not ready to fly solo with your dressmaking?
Join the Sew Surgery for a fully tutor supported group session and work on a garment of your choice. This is a relaxed session where you can come in with your own projects to take advantage of our big tables, sewing machines and overlockers with a tutor on hand at all times.

Dress in a Day – Tilly & the Buttons Bettine Dress
Saturday 9th March 10am-4pm
This is the stuff your sewing dreams are made of! A whole day of uninterrupted dressmaking and a finished dress by the end of the day!
Using patterns from UK independent pattern designers you will sew up a storm. To make a dress you’ll really love, you bring your own fabric to make your dress. With all students making the same dress together in our sewing studio, you will learn together in a friendly and supportive group.

You provide the pattern, fabric and other bits & bobs required and I’ll provide the advice, guidance & tools. Together you will work on your very own project of choice.
You may have already started a project and have found yourself a bit stuck or you just need that extra bit of motivation to finish a pile of UFOs (Unfinished Objects).

Sew to Grow – Seoul Blossom Blouse
Saturday 30th March 10am-3.30pm
Over the next few months I’ll be hosting a range of workshops at Oh Sew Sweet to help you build a capsule wardrobe collection of me made clothes from a range of Sew to Grow.
The feminine details and soft silhouette of the Seoul Blossom Blouse are inspired by my time discovering the wonders and beauty of South Korea. This top features flattering front diamond darts, V-Neck, and a curved back hem with side slits making it perfect for the “french tuck”. The optional bow cuff completes the design making this the top you’ve been looking for to add to your handmade wardrobe.

You can also book for a private “Get to Know Your Sewing Machine (or Overlocker)” lesson. Spend an intensive hour (or 2) with me and really get to grips with what your machine can do!
Stop it gathering dust, unloved and unused, and get yourself sewing. I will teach you everything you need to know to get going.
