I know it’s been a while, but I’m here to tell you about all the fab Learn to Sew Workshops that are coming up in April & even some in May!
I took Easter week off to have some family time and now I’m back to business as usual.
On the 2nd Monday of each month at Oh Sew Sweet in Wombwell I host a Sew your own Project afternoon, (this month: Monday 9th April, 12-3pm, Β£20, per person / next month: Monday 14th May), booking is essential – call Oh Sew Sweet on 01226 805955 to book your place. Bring whatever dresmmaking/clothing project you are working on or want to start and I will help and assist you.
Learn to Sew the Sew Different Tulip Dress – Saturday 14th April – 10am-3.30pm – Bawtry – Β£55
Sew Different is a fabulous independent pattern designer based in Yorkshire and her Tulip Dress design is perfect for so many occasions.
I made this sample in an indigo dye cotton (which left me with blue fingers, like a Smurf!), but yours could be made in cotton or linen or even wool, designed for a woven fabric with a bit of body to accentuate the beautiful sculptural shape.
Turn this versatile jersey top pattern into a dress. The Agnes pattern already has heaps of variations available but in this workshop, you will learn how to turn the pattern into either a gathered dress (as pictured) or into a wiggle (pencil) dress.
My students always tell me that they are baffled by dressmaking patterns, that they feel like they are written in a foreign language! Take this 2 hour workshop to demystify patterns and take your dressmaking to a whole new level. (April or May date available).
Make your own version of this shirt, learn about collars and buttons and buttonholes during this workshop.
This was really popular last time and we expect that it will be again. You don’t need an sewing machine skills to join as this will all be covered within the workshop and you will walk away with your tote bag.
