Sewing Goals for 2022

Wow! It’s 2022… Are you setting yourself any sewing goals for 2022?

I’m deliberately not using the word resolution as traditionally a “New Year’s Resolution” is often doomed to failure before you’ve even returned to work from the festive break.

And I don’t subscribe to the tagline “New Year! New You!”

This is a marketing scam used by companies to make you feel like you are not enough! By buying into their products/services you will become this amazing new person. Well, guess what?  You are already amazing just as you are and you don’t need to reinvent yourself one tiny bit! Don’t need to be better, have a thinner body or look different.

You are awesome! Right now! Just as you are!

But I think it’s important to keep learning and growing throughout your life to really flourish. So we come back to my question…

Are you setting yourself any sewing goals for 2022?

Is there a skill you want to master?

• Do you want to nail buttonholes?

• Get to grips with zips?

• Improve the fit of your garments?

These are all skills I can help you with at Sewing School or in 1:1 lessons.

A type of garment you want to make?

• Do you want to make jeans?

• Or to make yourself a coat?

• A lovely dress?

• Or even your wedding dress?

• 

• 

These are things I have helped students to make over the last couple of years.

Or do you have goals for sewing sustainability?

• Sew your current stash?

• Organise your fabrics? (Get my Know your Fabrics Printable to help.)

• Make more sustainable or ethical fabric purchases?

• Only buy fabric when you have a project in mind?

• Reduce plastic in your sewing room?

These are all topics we talk about in class, on the blog, on my You Tube Channel and in the Love & Stitches Club Q&A’s.
