Spring 22 Sewing Plans. I’m not a fan of winter clothes. I must admit that. I’m a summer baby and much prefer the feeling and freedom that summer clothes bring. I love to feel the sun on my skin!
These bright sunny summer mornings are making me want to start wearing more summery clothes. Sadly though it’s too cold and frosty to do that yet!
But that gives me a little time to make the clothes that I’m dreaming of right now.
Closet Core Pauline Dress
I wanted to make this dress from the minute I first saw the pattern. In fact I’ve even had the fabric lined up for it for a while!
There are a few features that I especially love on this dress.
- The keyhole opening at the back
- The square neckline
- Puff sleeves in short & longer lengths
- The tiered skirt
One thing I don’t love is the straight skirt shape. I plan to make the skirt for of a A-line of half circle dependant on whether or not I’ve got enough fabric.
I plan to make myself a wearable toile (mock-up) in a cheaper linen fabric to refine the fit.
Once I’ve got the fit nailed I’m going to be making up in these 2 amazing fabrics from Fabric Godmother!
Hoping to live out all my flower power dreams in this floral viscose crepe and the Picasso style print viscose twill is perfection!
Megan Nielsen Ash Curve Jeans
This is another pattern that I’ve loved for a while. I’ve outgrown the Closet Core Ginger Jeans size range which were my faves before lockdown.
But what I love most about the Ash Jeans pattern is that it’s a 4 in one! The pattern includes 4 different leg shapes.
- Straight Leg
- Skinny
- Wide Leg
- Flare
This pattern is designed for a stretch denim And I’ve got 2 different denims lined up at ready to cut! All I need to do is decide which leg shape to make in each!
I am loving the thought of a cropped green flare!
