When the Superstar Bra pattern was released by Waves & Wild last week. I instantly knew that it had to go to the top of my sewing list.

I promptly ordered the pattern from the Waves & Wild website (currently at 50% discount until 3rd October 2021) on release day and send to Fabulosew Pattern printing to print my copy.
If you’ve never used Fabulosew for PDF pattern printing before. Then I highly recommend that you give them a try next time. They are a family run business. That started during the pandemic. And they offer colour A0 printing on pattern tissue for £2.15 per sheet with no minimum order.
I ordered the pattern on Thursday and received the printed pattern on Friday.
I wanted some good value cotton/lycra to make a wearable toile. Assuming I would not get a perfect fit straight off. Northern Monkey Makes had been advertising on a local Facebook group. So I thought I would check out what they had to offer. What I discovered was a section of Grade B- fabrics, imperfect fabrics for a discounted price. Perfect for what I had planned.

Fabric & pattern ordered both companies exceeded expectations and delivered on Friday!
Time to Sew
I managed to squeeze a little time on Friday to cut out. But that does mean that I went against my own advice and didn’t prewash my fabric.
I measured myself as per the instructions and cut out a size XL with a D cup.
Because I have been suffering with sensitive skin and seams on my bras rubbing me. I opted for the most simple version with the shorter band. No powermesh, no cups, no elastic. Just 100% fully lined cotton/lycra.
About 90 mins later I’ve got myself a bra! The Superstar Bra

Is it perfect straight out of the packet? No, but it has great potential and with a few tweaks I think it will be close!
Front Back
A relatively straightforward make for anyone who has worked with jersey before. And there is also a Waves & Wild knickers pattern called the Wonder Undies, so you can create a matching set!
This is a completely independent review. I paid for the pattern and just wanted to let people know how great it is. It came along at the perfect time for me.
